What will you contribute? As part of the Tools & Infrastructure team in Finastra’s AI COE, the AI Tools Engineer develops and maintains the foundational 'AI backbone', building internal tools, platforms, and integrations that enables Finastra to better deploy AI capabilities Responsibilities & Deliverables Your deliverables as a Senior AI Tools Engineer will include, but are not limited to, the following: With a focus on internal productivity tools, design, develop, and maintain production-grade AI/ML applications and services that form AI infrastructure Develop and optimize AI agent systems using frameworks such as Langchain, Langgraph, or CrewAI for production environments Implement RESTful APIs with comprehensive security measures including OAuth2, JWT, and API gateway patterns Deploy and manage AI applications on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance Build distributed systems and microservices architectures that support AI/ML workloads Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for AI systems and services Apply software design patterns and clean code principles to ensure maintainable, scalable solutions Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to team members Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production AI systems Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and recommend improvements to COE stakeholders Required Skills & Experience Proficiency in Python including deep understanding of asynchronous programming, type systems, and performance optimization Software engineering experience with focus on AI/ML applications in production environments Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma) Proficiency with at least one of Langchain, Langgraph, or CrewAI with demonstrated experience building production AI agent systems Understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes Track record of building scalable, reliable AI/ML systems in production environments Understanding of MLOps practices and AI/ML deployment pipelines Experience with version control systems and collaborative development workflows Experience working with AI-assisted development tooling (e.g. GitHub CoPilot, Claude Code, Cusrsor, or equivalent) Excellent problem-solving abilities with analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
