Job Description:

Role Summary:

Group Benefits Administration Production Support is a dynamic and collaborative team in charge of supporting systems used by our operations partners.  We help the business find solutions to their needs and help them drive small changes and enhancements to these systems.  The business analyst is responsible for day-to-day system support. This includes analysis and testing of JIRA requests, troubleshooting system issues, and supporting small system changes.  The business analyst partners with IT to ensure that business needs are accurately represented, and that business users/sponsor's expectations are met. 

The role will be primarily focused on GB Admin/Claims applications such as: OASIS, Member Enrolment, DEX, DARC, xPression, Sunscript.  Excelling in this role requires strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure.  Excellent communication skills are essential to successfully resolving issues effectively and efficiently.

Main Accountabilities

  • Liaise with IT for support on system issues, and production support requests, and system changes
  • Testing of system changes
  • Documentation of system changes
  • Troubleshoot system issues
  • Investigate complex issues and engage IT partners as required
  • Triage and makes decisions on the suitability of solution(s) to meet business needs
  • Create/review/execute test plans and test cases, to ensure all implemented changes meet the business needs
  • Performing production validation of system maintenance system upgrades, usually on weekends or after regular business hours

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

 
Assets:

  • University or college diploma in business (major) and computer science (minor) or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of various business systems used by Group Operations area
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, OneNote, SharePoint
  • Knowledge of Group Insurance concepts and business environment
  • Experience with technology and the ability to self-learn applications

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
