The Team / The Business

S&P provides the data and analytics required for every single day decisions in the capital and financial markets. The role is into Data Center, Campus & Cloud Engineering team which is a part of S&P’s Digital Technology Group (DTS). DTS is leading the company’s Digital Transformation journey. This team works across the company - building scalable, end-to-end network services for future business needs. DTS delivers the services, applications, and websites that every S&P employee, clients utilize in some part of their work – Live Dashboards such as best known for the popular and often citied S&P 500 IndexApplication connectivity, Consoles, Database Replication, Expense time & absence reporting - to name a few.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Senior/Principal Network Engineer:

  • The focus of this position is to design and deploy infrastructure solutions that provide the underpinning for network and application connectivity in a multi-ISP, multi-DC ,multi Cloud environments (Akamai, Azure, AWS, Cloudflare, Alibaba) that enables our customers to achieve maximum productivity and success.
  • Planning, designing of Corporate Firewalls architecture and implementing in distributed environment.
  • In-depth experience with any of the Security Policy Automation Tools , Enterprise Proxy Technologies ,Firewall devices -configuration , management , engineering experience.
  • Use the latest technologies, tools & techniques, approaches, and work with leading minds in the industry to build, implement solutions and integrate with existing legacy technology- solutions you can be proud of.
  • Adapt in a dynamic environment, work with tight timelines for infra deployments and readiness.
  • Collaborate with CFTs through open communication and collaboration during product life-cycle testing, development with in-depth understanding on Infrastructure as Code, Application Architecture, Automation, Project Delivery, Environment Troubleshooting towards successful roll-out of the application, product.
  • Work with multiple teams including product, Cloud, Infra, Security, Service/PMO, OEMs in driving continuous improvements in network, automation, platform innovation and usability.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and insight to other teammates especially to Operations with high-Level Design documentation ensuring KT with efficient handovers.
  • Participate in P1/P2 outage calls as required providing support to Operations for quick mitigation / resolution of the outage. Help teams on complex problems requiring in-depth fault analysis and troubleshooting to understand traffic / connectivity flow with a mix of debugging, networking, tools administration including OEM support.
  • Provide complete infra services lifecycle for the customers- Plan, Design, Implementation, Migration and Optimization.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience developing enterprise level Network & Cloud Security solutions.
  • Experience in configuring, implementing and troubleshooting network topologies in a complex environment with extensive experience in the analysis, assessment, development, and evaluation of security solutions and architectures to secure applications and networks. 
  • Assists in the development of network security requirements, assists in technical regulatory compliance efforts, evaluates security services and technologies, and reviews and documents information security policies and procedures as well as provides monitoring and oversight for alerts in the environment and/or overseeing network QA testing or network regression testing. 
  • 10+ years of in-depth experience with hands on experience with configuring & management of firewalls of Multi - vendor platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet with Fortinet is an advantage .
  • Work experience on F5 LoadBalancer domain LTM, GTM domains.
  • Work experience on enterprise proxy solutions -Bluecoat (Web/Socks proxy), ZScaler Proxy solution.
  • Management, investigating and troubleshooting traffic and user access, log management, tune devices to get utmost performance eliminating vulnerabilities and install new security patches.
  • Work experience in routing protocols-BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP is advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of Remote access technologies including IPsec, GRE, DMVPN, SSL VPNs.
  • Work experience with protocol level understanding of Switching technologies - VLAN, STP (all types), LACP, EtherChannel, VPC, VXLAN, HSRP and VRRP.
  • Knowledge on Data Center switching -Cisco Nexus & ACI, Arista.
  • Work experience in SDWAN technologies.
  • Work experience with MPLS overlay environments which include multi VRF, L3VPN & L2VPN network with expert level knowledge of analyzing packet captures & Protocol analysis.
  • Work experience on system resource utilization, traffic trends / pattern, Bandwidth & capacity planning.
  • Work experience Radius, TACACS+, Cisco ISE, WLAN, Fortinet Firewalls, F5 LoadBalancers is an advantage.
  • Knowledge on automation tools -Itential, Ansible orchestration is an advantage.
  • Knowledge on Cloud technologies-AWS, Azure is an advantage.
