What You'll Do...
The Manager, Competitive Intelligence and Strategy Generalist will join Walmart Connect’s (WMC) in-house Strategy team to help define WMC’s long-term business unit strategy and conduct industry analysis to drive actionable intelligence. The WMC Strategy team is envisioning the future of WMC and its important role within Walmart.

In this role, you will help formulate the future of retail advertising by evaluating identifying market insights and new strategies to grow WMC, including the execution of company analysis and competitive benchmarking or in some cases, new to WMC opportunity evaluations. You will stand out if you have 2-3+ years of consulting, research, and/or corporate strategy experience within the technology, retail, media or advertising industries and have a deep capacity for managing multiple high-profile projects. We will need your industry curiosity and understanding, strategic mindset, and analytical skills to support the definition and evaluation of opportunities to grow WMC. This role entails sizing market potential and evaluating competitors and other industry participants, while creating actionable insights for WMC leadership and Walmart executives. Critical thinking, resourcefulness and strong attention to detail are required skill sets. Experience supporting the creation of leadership materials is a must.

Key Duties & Responsibilities…

  • Independently conduct industry and competitive analysis, including evaluation of earnings reports, company filings, industry reports, and more
  • Support creation of internal Weekly Industry Newsletters and Quarterly and Annual Industry Reports
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis, including Landscape Analysis, Marketing Sizing, Comparable Company Analysis, and more
  • In some instances, evaluate new strategies and opportunities for WMC, including market opportunity sizing, competitive evaluation, and business case building while supporting in strategy definition and execution enablers that reinforce WMC strategies
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to solicit and synthesize cross functional feedback while helping to build consensus
     

Preferred Qualifications…

  • 2-3+ years of consulting, research, and/or corporate strategy experience within the technology, retail, media or advertising industries, with an “always on” attitude towards gaining more knowledge
  • Resourcefulness in research, data collection and analysis to support strategies
  • Comfort with ambiguity and experience distilling research into actionable insights
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and comfort in interacting with executive level business and partners, along with other cross-functional partners
  • Intellectually curious, high energy, and strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects at one time

The annual salary range for this position is $96,000.00-$186,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
