Why this role is exciting:

Email Marketing Specialist will be vital to supporting next-level growth for impact.com’s Marketplace. You will communicate across thousands of publishers and brands, creating millions of touchpoints that drive customer growth. You will have a hand in composing, orchestrating, scheduling, measuring, and optimizing seasonal, educational, and lifecycle campaigns to facilitate productive partnerships. 

Working closely with the Growth & Product Teams, you will create strategies, implement email campaigns, and continuously optimize your programs — thus, strategy and technical acumen feature strongly in this role. As the program grows/diversifies, your technical abilities will become central to engaging the various market segments. Keeping current with direct marketing best practices, particularly for customer communications, will be critical to this role’s success. 

This role is to be based in Cape Town

What you will be doing:

  • Code HTML/deploy emails.
  • Keeping our emails in our user’s inboxes.
  • Managing email delivery reports and alerts, including bounce logs.
  • Troubleshooting and collaborating to find solutions to deliverability issues as they arise.
  • Develop and code the list segmentation for all direct and interactive marketing campaigns.
  • A/B test to continually optimize and hone communications and establish best practices. What worked in the past may not be the best in the future — attention to detail, observation, and discovery will be key in this role. 
  • Ensure marketing messages are conveyed clearly and delivered properly to prospects.
  • Continually track email performance; conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis (looking for insights, traffic, sources, etc); Identify top-performing emails and analyze why they perform well.

  • Send out monthly email summary reports detailing insights and action items. 
  • Manage and monitor synced email data. 

Does this sound like you?

  • 2-4+ years proven work experience as an email deliverability specialist in a B2B environment. 
  • Verifiable experience with Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides, data studio) Confluence, Slack, and WordPress.
  • HTML, SQL, email coding. 
  • Proficiency in marketing automation technology.
  • Deep understanding of Anti-Spam best practices and legislation.
  • Outstanding written English skills.
  • API experience is a plus.
  • Proactive, professional, and detail-oriented.
  • Time management and organizational expert.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, or relevant field.
