Production Engineer
Primary Focus
The successful candidate will function as an important part of the Manufacturing department at Silent-Aire. The incumbent will collaborate in a disciplined manner across the multiple stakeholders and departments in executing all aspects of a variety of challenging and innovative projects.
Specific Accountabilities
- Provide technical design support to senior supervisors within the production and manufacturing department.
- Take a leading role in project execution.
- Communicate and interact with all internal clients.
- Provide day-to-day technical and engineering support to the operating areas.
- Assist in planning, design, installation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment in the operating areas.
- Technical support and troubleshooting of production issues related to equipment, processes, quality, controls, and systems.
- Development assist with the development of new and innovative product lines and refinement of existing products.
- Interact with production; perform periodic inspections of units under construction.
- Participate in continuous product improvement.
- Be involved in many aspects of the business including support for estimating, business development and production improvements.
Scope
- Independently manage a workload consisting of multiple projects with multiple deadlines.
- Collaborate with senior staff with execution of projects and orders.
- Manage and execute work tasks and projects efficiently.
Contacts
- Work both independently and as part of a departmental team lead in executing a variety of projects. Interact with other engineering disciplines and trades to successfully carry out all project requirements.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing plant and office environment.
- Occasional travel to field worksite locations may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Some occasional travel required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Mechanical engineering degree (BSc. Eng., B.Eng.).
- At least 5 years related in production or similar industries experience.
- Experience in HVAC design will be beneficial, including knowledge in equipment and system selection, design and control. Additional experience in metal fabrication and/or manufacturing is an asset.
- Dedication to continuous improvement and sound prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, Six Sigma training encouraged.
- Proficient with drafting in AutoDesk products (Auto Cad and Inventor); demonstrated knowledge in proper drafting standards and practices.
- Exudes confidence and tact in interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Has the ability to interact positively with outward facing clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial.
