We are hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. You will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance to production machinery. You will be operating state-of-the-art offset and digital web presses. For this role, you would also be eligible for a $2,500 signing bonus upon being in the role for 90 days.
Hours of Work – Eagan, Minnesota
2nd shift – 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Occasional overtime up to 4 hours per day and occasional weekend shifts
About the Role:
Execute small and medium projects involving programmable logic controllers such as PLC 5, SLC 500, Controls Logix, Panel View Plus and Allen Bradley VFDs.
Maintain industrial networks such as DeviceNet and Remote I/O.
Install and maintain PLC Controllers.
Provide training in controls and electricity to minimize production downtime. Identify and prioritize controls/electrical opportunities to maximize operations performance within the facility. Plan and execute projects in a manner which minimizes down time.
Develop and maintain electrical and controls system documentation.
Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment from various suppliers. Quickly identify root causes of problems as mechanical, controls or a combination of problems and coordinate resources necessary to address them.
Develop control software to achieve the balance between mechanical and electrical controls modifications to effectively handle all equipment modifications.
Maintain Allen Bradley hardware and software: PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, networks and various electrical systems.
Participate on the team that supervises the electrical installation/integration of equipment and controls.
Follow the Thomson Reuters Controls and Electrical Specifications. Understand schematics, ladder diagrams, and panel wiring. Implement and propose improvements to Controls and Electrical Specifications.
Balance workloads by analyzing and recommending appropriate resource for electrical and controls projects.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Maintenance Mechanic if your background includes:
2-year technical college or equivalent experience
Computer literate.
Competent with volt/ohmmeter, dial indicator, micrometer, lathe, milling machine, hand tools, hoists,
jacks, and test equipment.
Working knowledge of air, hydraulic, and vacuum systems.
Ability to weld, braze, and solder.
Competent with a basic diagnosis of electrical components such as switches, sensors, detectors, and motors.
Math skills.
Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
