Individual Life’s (ILI) Actuarial Valuation & Projections Team serves multiple stakeholders across the enterprise by supporting valuation and financial reporting requirements for US GAAP, US STAT, and risk management. The team plays an important role in the execution of the ILI business unit’s strategic objectives.

As part of the US STAT and risk management responsibilities, the ILI Actuarial Cashflow Projections Team is a 5-member team responsible for executing liability cash flow projections supporting asset adequacy testing (AAT), setting of portfolio reinvestment strategies, and monitoring insurance risk and is seeking a candidate for an Associate Actuary role.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid or virtual and may require your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business, dependent on the candidate's location. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Prepare and review liability cash flow projections supporting AAT, portfolio management, insurance risk management, and liquidity stress testing.

  • Support ILI’s ALM Team by explaining analysis and answering questions about our results.

  • Play a key role in and oversee the annual assumption update process, primarily using AXIS and also utilizing Polysystems.

  • Recommend and drive process improvements to enhance and streamline the team’s operations.

  • Collaborate with ILI’s Modeling team with respect to structural model enhancements.

  • Ability to cross-train other team members on AXIS responsibilities and receive training on Python and Polysystems responsibilities.

  • Provide documentation and testing support of model changes and model reaffirmations.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience working in a production environment with tight deadlines and competing priorities.

  • Dedication to completing work in a timely and accurate fashion.

  • Experience with Term and Universal Life products.

  • Experience in actuarial modeling of sensitivity testing and assumption updates.

  • Exposure to reinsurance structures including coinsurance and YRT.

  • Strong technical skills in AXIS and SQL.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills.

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • ASA or FSA.

  • Familiarity with results analysis tools like PowerBI.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $114,500.00 to $188,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
