As a Snap Engineering team member, you’ll help us build the future of communication.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Marketplace Design team at Snap Inc! This team is responsible for designing Snap’s ad auctions systems, managing and optimizing ad load and insertion logics as well as balancing revenue and user experience via user engagement modeling. This team plays a critical role in growing Snap’s ads revenue in sustainable ways. 

What you’ll do:

  • Deeply influence the technical vision of marketplace design including auction and responsible monetization, break them down into executable roadmaps and own the results.

  • Build and coach a team of exceptional software engineers and machine learning engineers.

  • Closely work with Product Managers, Data scientists and XFN stakeholders to develop marketplace strategies balancing long and short term business objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience in one or multiple ad delivery funnels: ad targeting, ad ranking, ad marketplace, ad measurement.

  • Excellent at communicating context, coaching and fostering innovative ideas.

  • Proficient in making data-driven decisions in complex technical problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development.

  • You have 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.

  • BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in auction & pricing, ad networks, demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs),  real-time bidding, budget pacing.

  • Experience with applying machine learning solutions.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $222,000-$333,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $211,000-$316,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $189,000-$283,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
