Position Title: Supply Chain Manager

Position Description: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all aspects of direct and indirect supply chain management for our projects, facilities and supportive business activities. The position requires collaboration across departments, transparent communication, data-driven decision-making and a general sense of urgency.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execution of supply chain workflow including requisitioning, negotiation, ordering, confirmation and delivery
  • Technical aptitude to source vendors to support engineering requirements and satisfy customer specifications while creating a competitive bidding and cost situation
  • Vendor relationship management including periodic pricing and support reviews with key vendors
  • Management of shipping and receiving team to ensure distribution of parts across all Axis operations
  • Maintaining and continuously improving negotiated terms and conditions with all suppliers
  • Tracking of target and actual cost savings across part numbers and vendors
  • Monitoring quality and delivery metrics for key vendors
  • Management of subcontractor pricing and contracts across various project disciplines
  • Assist process engineering / quoting activities to find capable vendors and pricing for prospective projects with the goal of helping win new business
  • Coordination with the Project Management team to follow project schedules and budgets for assigned jobs
  • Proactively liaise with all departments to ensure transparent communication on supply chain expectations
  • Promote team-oriented collaboration and culture of discipline across all departments and team members

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter with sense of urgency for accomplishing tasks and communicating to a team
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have analytical aptitude to leverage data for strategic decision-making
  • 5+ years of experience in automation machine and/or equipment building industry
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Experience with machine tool and welding applications preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred
  • Comfortable with speaking in front of groups
