MANUFACTURING ENGINEER – Welding Manufacturing Engineer

This position is to be fulfilled by a focused and self-motivated engineerto work in a dynamic industrial environment. In this position you will design, develop and validate the manufacturing processes. You also will contribute to the buildup of new production cells, generating the technical information of production processes. You will also maintain and improve existing manufacturing methods while supports Johnson Controls’ capacity expansion plans. Develop, certify, implement and control WPS´s, PQR´s in accordance with the applicable codes. Qualify and maintain control of welder’s certification. Diligently provide support on welding. Search and implement new welding technologies. Develop, review, certify and maintain technical information of the products in accordance with ASME, PED etc. codes, related with welding and manufacturing information. Develop and review of the special product applicable design

What will you do?

  • Implements, promotes, and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, and application ofrules. Lead by example.

  • Manufacturing cell design.

  • Calculate and control optimal capacities of production lines and fabrication processes.

  • Verify Time standards and calculation of earn hours perfamily products.

  • Facilitating A3 problem solving

  • Designing future state value streams

  • Create technical documentation (standard work sheets, OMS, ODS, FMEA, DFAM etc.)

  • Contribute to the advancement ofthe organization in the JCMS  Supports sharing of best practices as result of internal and external benchmarking activities

  • Evaluation and modification of lay outs of production lines and production cells. Lead and update (if apply) databases that demonstrate the optimal routes ofthe product, production times, assignment of main and alternate machines, define the headcount of operators needed to perform the different parts.

  • Work with multidisciplinary groups to implement Lean Manufacturing.

  • Reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA’s.

  • Drive process related activities for New Product Introduction, from early planning stages on into full production.

  • Coach, mentor, and train Manufacturing Technicians within the Manufacturing team

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Implement a new welding process.

  • Participate in new products and EC for welding support.

  • Route Manager, standard hours, operational data sheets, flow charts, VSM.

  • Responsible for the successful manufacture implementation of new products/technologies.

  • Review project specifications and requirements to assure conformance of product design and fabrication.

  • Comply and assure all people his/her charge comply with quality requirements defined in ASME manual & all requirements defined in quality information.

How will you do it?

  • Industrial, Mechatronic, Mechanic Engineering Degree.

  • 3+ years of experience,in brazing and welding processes.

  • 3+ years of experience, in metal mechanic industries

  • Spoken and written English. Able to carry on a conversation without difficulty.

  • Strong knowledge on elements of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning and layout.

  • Project management experience.

  • Proven record of accomplishment of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous improvements and cost reduction programs

  • Strong communication skills

  • Plans and prioritizes work effectively, adapting for changing conditions.

  • Original thinking and an ability to identify problems and generate creative solutions.
