Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader to guide and support a production team in the assembly of commercial air handling units. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrates strong leadership, and is committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations to ensure timely and accurate production of commercial air handling units.
- Train, organize, and motivate team members to meet performance and quality goals.
- Provide feedback on team member performance to support evaluations and development.
- Oversee task completion to ensure alignment with specifications, standards, and deadlines.
- Promote a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure team members are properly assigned and equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Assess staffing needs based on workload and coordinate with other department leads as needed.
- Demonstrate urgency and proactive problem-solving in addressing production or personnel issues.
- Maintain a strong understanding of product specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct weekly safety audits and enforce all safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Uphold the company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Strong understanding of safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient in reading a tape measure and interpreting basic measurements.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, gather data, and implement effective solutions.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, with advanced knowledge of air handling unit production processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Execute daily production schedules and assign tasks to team members.
- Monitor progress and ensure timely task completion.
- Identify and address employee relations issues, escalating when necessary.
- Enforce plant policies, conduct safety inspections, and ensure PPE compliance.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing setting.
- Exposure to standard industrial conditions; reasonable accommodations available.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands for handling materials and tools.
- Frequently required to sit; occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, or crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Visual requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
