Job Summary

Flagship Lab Services is seeking a Life Science Lab Tech with Lab experience to join our dynamic and growing division in SF/Bay area.

Working under supervision, this is an intermediate level position assigned to different operations and service departments to perform skilled Lab Services. This will be accomplished by performing on-site routine tasks and assisting with duties including but not limited to the Essential Functions listed below.

Pay rate is $31.05 - $35.65 per hour

Job Description:

Essential Functions

· Ensuring relevant labware, consumables, supplies, and areas are properly stocked, cleaned, sterilized and/or maintained through use of appropriate equipment and processes

· Performing hazardous waste consolidation routines via specified processes as needed

· Supporting lab equipment maintenance routines as directed

· Performs and/or assists with corrective work orders and preventative maintenance work orders as directed. 

· Assisting with the ordering and stock integrity of lab supplies through inventory management, procurement, and receiving processes and systems

· Prepare/receive/ship packages for Shipping/Receiving and reconcile packing slips, understanding temperature sensitivity.

· Interacting with research staff and supporting in-scope service requests as directed

· Understanding operational laboratory workflows and successfully balancing routines tasks and ad-hoc work

· Performing work process documentation, metrics tracking, and communication routines

· Additional support-level tasks as necessary

· Schedule subject to change, remaining flexible within reasonable notice. 

· 24/7 Response if applicable.

· Provide backup support for multiple client sites

· Training new staff and Implementing new client sites

· Basic knowledge of building & lab management systems.

· Performing safety shower, eye wash, fire extinguisher safety checks.

· Alarm monitoring and management. 

· Escort vendors and contractors on site.

· Trained for cleaning and maintaining decon equipment.

REQUIRED (Must-Haves):

· Lab experience required

· Valid CA Driver’s license

· Personal transportation required as work will involve transit between multiple work sites in the Greater SF/Bay area

· Willing to commute to different work sites according to needs of client/company. (mileage reimbursements provided)

· Prior service industry/customer service experience

· Strong communication skills via text, email, telephone, and face to face.

· Respond to daily Client/Tenant requests and internal company requests in a timely, professional manner.

· Ability to lift up to 40lbs and continuously bend, reach and twist

· Ability to stand/walk during entire length of shift

· Proficiency with the Microsoft ecosystem (i.e. Windows, Office365, etc.); comfortable using technology

· Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

· Available to work within the core business hours of 7AM to 6PM. Service hours are generally 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday

Pre-Hire Qualifications:

· Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. 

· 2+ years of prior work experience in a related work environment, illustrating good attendance, professional behavior, reliability. 

· Ability to follow orders given orally and in writing.

· General Maintenance and Lab Safety

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time non-exempt position.  Days and hours of work vary according to the business demands.

Travel: 

The nature of our business has worksites in several locations in the Greater SF/Bay area. We expect our employees to remain flexible, and travel between sites will be necessary as the business demands.
