Position Summary:
This role is responsible for the pursuit of new grocery & services customers across the breadth of the SpartanNash product & service portfolio. This individual will assist in creation & delivery of proposals to identified prospects and contract negotiation to convert prospects into customers and integration of the new customers into the SpartanNash ecosystem.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for developing and executing strategies to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities including the creation and delivery of proposals to identified prospects.
Oversee the contract negotiation process to convert prospects to customers and then oversee the integration of new customers into the SpartanNash ecosystem.
Drive growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, exploring emerging verticals, and exploring new channels for distribution. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, possess excellent communication skills, and be adept at building relationships with key stakeholders.
Collaborate on new business processes and strategy with broader sales, finance, and supply chain counterparts.
Promote and establish the SpartanNash brand at industry events, driving brand awareness and generating new business opportunities within each market.
Build out and expand the fundamental tools that drive our business success, with a primary focus on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Here's what you'll need:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
At least 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience in grocery industry or other applicable retail/wholesaling experience
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
Self-motivated with a strategic mindset and the ability to work independently.
Strong financial acumen and ability to collaborate with modeling new customer profitability.
Firm understanding of prospect performance modeling and data analytics to enhance decision-making and drive revenue growth.
Ability to analyze market data to forecast trends and opportunities effectively.
Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint most important).
