The HVAC Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales of HVAC systems and services by identifying customer needs, providing product information, and closing sales. This role involves building relationships with clients, understanding their HVAC requirements, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, cold calling, and participating in trade shows and community events.
Client Consultation: Meet with clients to assess their HVAC needs, provide expert advice on products and solutions, and recommend appropriate HVAC systems and services.
Product Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of HVAC products, services, and industry trends to effectively communicate features and benefits to clients.
Quoting and Proposals: Prepare detailed price quotes and proposals for HVAC installations, repairs, and maintenance services.
Sales Presentations: Conduct presentations and demonstrations of HVAC products to potential customers, highlighting their advantages and benefits.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements and work towards closing sales efficiently.
Collaboration: Work closely with the installation and service teams to ensure customer expectations are met and projects are completed on time.
Follow-Up: Provide post-sale support to customers, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales forecasts in a CRM system.
Qualifications:
Education: A degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in sales, preferably in the HVAC industry or a related field.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of HVAC systems, components, and services.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and team members.
Customer Service: Strong customer service skills and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze customer needs and provide effective solutions.
Sales Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
License/Certification: A valid driver's license and any required certifications related to HVAC sales may be necessary.
Working Conditions:
This position typically involves a combination of office work and fieldwork, including visits to client sites.
Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate client schedules and meetings.
Compensation:
Compensation may include a base salary plus commission or bonuses based on sales performance.
