Amae Health is a Series B, venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation that delivers specialty outpatient care for people with severe mental illness. We build and operate high-acuity, in-person clinics nationally.

Our model integrates psychiatry, therapy, primary care, dietitians, and community support under one roof. It has proven itself as the most effective in the country, which is why we collaborate with leading health systems including NewYork-Presbyterian, Cedars-Sinai, Mass General Brigham, Novant Health, and CommonSpirit to extend our care to where it’s needed most.

But what makes us fundamentally different is that we are also building the science and technology layer that this field has never had. We are developing proprietary clinical protocols, designing novel measurement science, and engineering an AI data science platform purpose-built for the complexity of severe mental illness. Every patient interaction generates data that feeds back into our protocols, our technology, and our understanding of what actually works.

The Role 

Amae is building something that doesn't exist yet — an outcomes-driven, fully integrated care model for people with severe mental illness, in partnership with the country's top health systems. Making that model actually work at scale is the job of our Strategy & Operations team, and we're looking for an Operations Lead to help own that challenge.

This role sits at the intersection of clinical operations and business strategy. You'll work directly with market leaders, clinical directors, and our central team to build the programs, processes, and infrastructure that make excellent care delivery possible — and repeatable.

What You'll Work On

  • Own the design and implementation of operational programs across care delivery — from new service line launches to care coordination workflows
  • Serve as a trusted operational partner to clinical and market leadership, translating strategic priorities into executable plans
  • Identify performance gaps through data analysis and structured root-cause work, then drive improvement initiatives to close them
  • Build playbooks, training materials, and feedback loops that enable consistent quality across markets

What You'll Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare operations, management consulting with healthcare clients, or scaling a digital health or behavioral health company
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with clinical and operational leaders — you understand how care delivery works and can earn trust on both sides of the table
  • Experience designing and implementing operational programs at scale: workflows, playbooks, feedback loops, SOPs
  • Strong analytical skills; you use data to diagnose problems and measure whether your solutions are actually working
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience strongly preferred — you're comfortable building before things are defined
  • Clear, direct communicator; able to translate complex operational challenges for clinical, executive, and cross-functional audiences
  • Motivated by the mission to improve outcomes for people with severe mental illness
  • Based in SF Bay Area; able to work in-person 5 days/week in Cow Hollow

Compensation & Benefits 

We pay competitively. Base salary reflects role, level, and geography. Total compensation includes valuable equity, comprehensive medical/dental/vision, unlimited PTO, parental leave, and programs built around employee well-being. We’ll share specifics during the interview process.
