What you will do

In this vital role you will lead the country landscape assessments and the site identification process on behalf of the UK and Ireland for clinical trials spanning Amgen’s clinical development portfolio.

You will use analytical tools and engage with various internal and external stakeholders to obtain input and provide feedback on proposed Amgen clinical trials that will enable outstanding medicines to move through the pipeline bringing therapies to patients.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the UK/Ireland local clinical trial environment and assess impact on Amgen study design and execution
  • Understand patient flows and referral pathways in support of global/local operational delivery
  • Build stakeholder engagement seeking at identifying new UK/Ireland investigators and maintaining relationships with experts in specific therapy areas
  • Engage with local UK/Ireland reference sites in collaboration with local medical team to acquire input on proposed study design and partner with Amgen colleagues to analyse local feedback for incorporation into study and operational planning decisions
  • Use site intelligence and local cross-functional input for study-level operational planning supporting country commitments validation and potential site list identification
  • Ensure consistency of activities and development of best practices through leadership / participation in Development Feasibility Manager (DFM) Forum

You would be joining a UK based Clinical Operations team and work alongside local medical teams across a range of therapeutic areas. The role will also allow you to engage with DFM colleagues on a global level and share ideas and best practices.

  • Degree educated
  • Broad work experience in life sciences or medically related field, including biopharmaceutical clinical research experience acquired working on clinical trials in a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company
  • Proven experience of assessing clinical trial feasibility
  • Strong Communication skills and confident presentation skills in a variety of settings, adjusting to audience and bringing message across
  • Effective relationship building and stakeholder management across functions, regions and cultures
  • Efficiently work both across teams, on multiple projects and independently
