Job Purpose:

Our Digital PrePress Technician will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and optimizing digital artwork files for print production. This role supports accurate color reproduction, efficient workflow management, and high-quality output across digital and conventional print processes. The technician collaborates closely with design, production, and press teams to ensure precision and consistency from file receipt through final proofing.

Job Responsibilities:

● Prepare and review digital files for print in accordance with established specifications and production standards.
● Conduct preflight checks to confirm correct fonts, images, color profiles, bleeds, and resolution.
● Adjust, correct, and optimize artwork files to meet printing and packaging requirements.
● Generate and review digital and hardcopy proofs for internal and customer approval.
● Collaborate with designers, customer service, and press operators to resolve file or layout issues.
● Maintain organized digital file archives and version control.
● Assist in training and supporting junior prepress staff as needed.
● Monitor and support prepress workflows, RIP systems, and color management processes to ensure quality and consistency.
● Recommend process improvements, software updates, and best practices to enhance productivity.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Ability to troubleshoot file, software, and proofing issues with minimal supervision.
● Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals.
● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with prepress and packaging software (ArtiosCAD, Esko, or similar).
● Knowledge of color management, trapping, and imposition techniques.
● Technical training or certification in graphic design, printing, or related field preferred.
● Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level team members.

Work Experience:

● 3-5 years of related job experience.

● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.

● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.

● Strong planning and organization skills are required.

● Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.

Education:

● Associate Degree Preferred - Graphic Design

Working Conditions:
The work environment for this position requires:
● Regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur.
● Exposure to loud noise.
● Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles.

Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 
● Ability to lift, twist and carry up 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack.
● Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter.
● Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.  
● Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance .
● Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist.
● Kneeling -  kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.
