Overview

To be responsible for the effective operation of the Bakery Department by maximizing sales and gross profit, ensuring sales’ goals and budgets are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience
  • To oversee the effective ordering, production, merchandising of all bakery products and ensure attractive displays to maintain and increase sales;
  • To plan daily production sheets to ensure variety in bakery products, and effectively prioritize  and organize all production and department functions;
  • To effectively control inventory through pricing and signage of bakery products to achieve company goals and budget so as to maximize sales and profits;
  • To schedule, direct, supervise and discipline department staff and train all new employees;
  • To be responsible for the opening and/or closing functions of the department;
  • To ensure the maintenance of equipment and the safety and sanitation of the production and back room areas, as per Company Policy;
  • To respond to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times;
  • To perform other duties, as required.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified baker/decorator, preferably in a retail environment;
  • Previous managerial experience and knowledge of production schedules is a definite asset;
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours which include days, evening, nights, and weekends;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Must possess excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
