Position Summary:

MUFG’s Leveraged Capital Markets division is seeking an ambitious, hardworking analyst to support the origination, structuring and execution of non-investment grade acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and refinancings across various industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain marketing materials to position MUFG’s Leveraged Capital Markets platform to secure new mandates.
  • Update trading levels for outstanding bonds by monitoring trading activity, reviewing market maker quotes and conferring with Sales and Trading.
  • Perform credit analysis on behalf of potential and existing issuers.
  • In conjunction with Syndicate, develop indicative pricing for prospective issuers based on comparable analysis and peer trading levels.
  • Maintain databases of issuances to stay abreast of recent transactions and trends to highlight in pitchbooks and market reports.
  • Collaborate with MUFG’s global capital markets syndicate and origination teams (Europe and Asia) to construct global market insight and pricing updates for multi-national clients.
  • Coordinate with other colleagues within the MUFG suite of products and services (e.g. Derivatives, Liability Management, Equity Capital Markets, etc.) to develop holistic value-added client solutions.​
  • Arrange organizational materials and assist with the development of working group lists, transaction timetables, due diligence question lists, target investor lists, etc.
  • Coordinate arrangements and documentation for internal deal approvals.
  • Prepare Sales Memo provided to Sales and Trading to facilitate the distribution of transactions.
  • Actively participate in reviewing and editing of deal documentation such as lender presentations, offering documents, underwriting agreements, press releases, and roadshow presentations.
  • Ensure documentation is completed within the established transaction timeline.
  • Assist in arranging market update calls, due diligence sessions, and investor marketing.
  • Help with the coordination/organization of investor roadshows.

Qualifications:

  • Strong quantitative, communication (verbal and written), and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects or transactions with near-term deadlines.
  • Very detail-oriented individual who strives to get it right first time every time.
  • Exhibits initiative in wide range of situations.
  • Creative thinker; Seeks to develop and offer innovative solutions by synthesizing multiple facts and views.
  • Ability to integrate into a team and develop working relationships within MUFG
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and some experience or familiarity with Bloomberg.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Desired/Plus:

  • Series 7, 63, 79
  • CFA (or on CFA track)

The typical base pay range for this role is between $110K - $120K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
