As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts. This position requires regular travel between the Medina location and the Main Campus.
This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working a varying evening/night rotation between 8:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
Provide case cart management.
Properly handle equipment, instruments and chemicals while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards during the decontamination process.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Scan, sort, inspect and assemble, wrap and label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure.
Perform record keeping functions within the electronic tracking system, including processing, sterilization and quality assurance documentation.
Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch them to appropriate locations.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.
Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.
Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
