Job Title: Senior Commercial Account Manager (Mid-Atlantic Platform)

Job Summary:

The Account Manager/Senior Commercial Account manager is a member of the Commercial Lines team dedicated to the Commercial and Multifamily Real Estate industry, inclusive of Property Management & Development/Construction. This position offers unique opportunity to combine traditional account management skills in commercial insurance within a growth oriented agency culture.   This position supports Account Executive(s) and is responsible for daily client service, marketing renewals, preparing/presenting proposals, and binding client insurance programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high level of daily service to clients including responding to inquiries regarding policies and coverages.

  • Adhering to an established renewal timeline/process inclusive of: development of renewal strategy with Account Executive & Producer, client exposure collection & review, customizing coverage specifications, analysis and negotiation of coverage quotes, and preparation of comprehensive insurance proposals.

  • Responsible for implementing service models and Real Estate centric stewardship reports throughout the year and maintaining timelines of those deliverables.

  • Create per location premium allocation spreadsheets and collaborate with client to maximize premium CAM recapture.

  • Work with clients to ensure favorable contractual risk transfer/contract review.

  • Update client specific Real Estate benchmarking & Claim trending/development reports

  • Review policies and endorsements for accuracy; report errors to insurance company to correct.

  • Assist in cross selling lines of coverage not currently written.

  • Keep team members fully informed of important activities on their accounts including being sensitive to potential problems.

  • Apply problem solving techniques to various issues concerning cancellations, claims, renewal issues, audits, receivables, & carrier issues.

  • Communicate effectively within team environment inclusive of Assistant Account Managers through Account Executive.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Work independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring and ongoing projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Licensed in property and casualty insurance.

  • Minimum 4+ years relevant Commercial Lines Experience with a broker/agent, including marketing large middle market accounts to carriers and wholesalers.

  • College degree preferred.

  • Professional designation or pursuit of professional designation preferred.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision; able to accept direction on given assignments.

  • Knowledge of MS Office Products, Word, Outlook and advanced knowledge of Excel.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy.

  • Able to work effectively in a team environment with strong customer service skills.

  • Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel regionally for client visits.

  • Strong knowledge of all basic P&C coverages with a focus on Property,  General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, and Professional Liability.

  • Knowledge of standard and surplus lines markets and insurance industry market trends are a plus.

  • Demonstrated superior presentation/relationship skills to present proposals to customers and prospects in this highly client interactive role.
