Department Overview

We are seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator with Cloud DevOps to join our IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks, with a focus on ensuring the smooth operation of our Windows-based systems and our cloud infrastructure. The role will involve DevOps with monitoring system performance, configuring new software and hardware, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure.


Job Description

  • Install, configure, and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure in both on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Administer cloud-based resources and services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components within platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Automate routine tasks with PowerShell or other scripting languages.

  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability through proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, and anti-spam systems.

  • Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity measures.

  • Document systems configurations, changes, and operational procedures.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven experience in a Windows System Administrator role, managing Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 environments.

  • Solid experience with cloud services administration (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

  •  

    **Preferred Skills**:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or equivalent cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator).

  • Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices.

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and services. (Eg: Nagios , Prometheus , Zabbix)

  • Kubernetes and containerisation of Windows

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).

  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.

  • Experience with scripting and automation.

  • Knowledge of data protection operations and disaster recovery.

  • Ability to create a secure and robust network environment.
