The Associate Relations team at Walmart is a phenomenal group positioned within the Global People function, playing a unique and critical role in the organization. What you’ll bring   

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field and 3 years’ experience in human resource management, employee relations, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in human resource management, employee relations, or related area. 

  • Knowledge of employment policy

What you’ll do 

  • Manages investigations of complex human resources matters by overseeing investigative processes across the team; reviewing investigative strategies; leading escalated investigation processes; ensuring investigations align with established processes; identifying vulnerabilities and recommending process refinements; overseeing the development of conclusions from findings and presenting findings and decisions to business unit or human resources leadership; supporting the team in communicating decisions to stakeholders; identifying risks and vulnerabilities with complex cases; and recommending and driving corrective measures. 

  • Provides guidance to business and human resources senior leadership by identifying key stakeholders and establishing relationships; educating and advising leadership on associate support programs and investigation protocols and processes; providing direction to senior leadership to align on decision processes; reviewing trends in cases and communicating them to senior leadership; partnering with leadership on action plans to address trends; advising leadership on best practices; meeting with business unit customers to discuss metrics, new projects, and program roll-outs; consulting on potential risks and vulnerabilities; and providing guidance regarding strategies. 

  • Develops and manages the strategic design and implementation of associate support programs by partnering with senior leadership regarding long-term strategies for associates; researching and reviewing external benchmarking data to determine best practices; partnering with external consultants to determine best-in-class service offerings; evaluating data and developing insights to drive associate support strategies; building global models to drive consistency in associate support programs across markets; partnering with senior leadership to ensure management follows company expectations for communication with associates; and overseeing the implementation of new associate support models and programs. 

  • Directs and supports the development, accuracy, and distribution of reports and analytical data by supervising and approving data gathering and analyses; overseeing the development and approval of analytical summaries and reports distributed to key leaders; reviewing analytical summaries and reports to ensure alignment with customer requests and business needs; interpreting analytical summaries and reports for business needs and for key stakeholders; and establishing governance and oversight of data collection, input and accuracy. 

  • Develops and manages processes, policies, and systems related to field associate support by tracking and analyzing case metrics to determine areas of opportunity within existing processes; evaluating and updating investigative protocols, policies, and processes; determining system capabilities and ensuring they align with strategies; collaborating with senior leadership to integrate practices into business strategies; identifying areas of opportunity to mitigate risk; and advising senior leadership on changes and need for alignment. 

  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. 

  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. 

  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. 

  • Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
