The Technology, Product, Experience (TPX) organization acts as the engine for much of this innovation, developing and delivering our Xfinity and Comcast Business products and services, as well as the tools that our teammates use to support our customers. In addition, the team is responsible for the network that allows the delivery of those products and services to residential and business customers. The TPX Communications team delivers business-critical and business-as-usual communications to ensure that all TPX employees and key stakeholders understand and engage in achieving our company wide and TPX goals.
We are seeking a Director of Communications, who will join the TPX Communications team, helping lead and support our communications efforts and make a meaningful impact. This individual will be responsible for leading, supporting and executing strategic, operational and highly technical employee communications and engagement activities for many enterprise initiatives related to the Global Technology Organization (GTO) (including Information Technology) and Cybersecurity areas. Within those areas, the person in this role also will lead and support various internal communications activities for executives. This person also will lead and support communications efforts for various programs impacting employees within the TPX organization. This person will report to the Senior Director, TPX Communications, and will work closely with other TPX Communications teammates.
The Director of Communications will partner with leaders and subject matter experts within the GTO and Cybersecurity organizations, as well as communicators and other stakeholders company-wide, to drive and integrate communications strategies across the business. This person will be a key contributor in a fast-paced, complex and constantly changing environment. This person will lead and support projects, leveraging communications expertise – or be part of cross-functional teams established to implement major, new initiatives.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
- In support of the GTO and Cybersecurity organizations:
- Develops, supports and executes strategic employee communications and engagement plans designed to support key business objectives, long-term goals, and a high volume of projects related to those organizations. This includes assessing projects to vet employee and stakeholder impacts, liaising with project managers and subject matter experts to proactively integrate communication planning within project planning, developing and distributing highly technical content with an eye for user experience, and working closely with key stakeholders across the business.
- Provides communications support to key executives within those organizations, including communications around key initiatives, high level organization announcements, town hall meetings, internal speaking engagements and other communications needs.
- Partners with HR and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment across the company and the timely and effective dissemination of messaging and materials to employees, including reinforcement of TPX cultural initiatives.
- In support of TPX programs:
- Develops and supports communications campaigns and events designed to inform, engage and inspire TPX employees, which includes a large, globally based developer population
- Collaborates with leaders and teammates across the TPX Communications team to bring these efforts to life
- Provides support, guidance and leadership within teams or projects/initiatives as needed; leads projects that involve cross-functional partners as necessary.
- Coordinates with appropriate communications counterparts to ensure proper calibration of communications to employees (avoiding collisions, etc.).
- Manages consultants/contracted resources as needed, including creative agencies, event planning firms, graphic designers, etc.
- Keeps communications fresh, creative, and engaging; regularly develops and explores new ideas and strategies, such as social forums and platforms.
- Ensures proper post-project analysis and “continuous improvement” approach, with a keen eye for metrics and communications effectiveness.
- Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent; business, communications, or journalism preferred.
- Generally requires 10+ years related experience, preferably relevant, technically oriented internal or operational communications experience.
- Ability to write quickly; distilling complex concepts into key messages is critical in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective partnerships across the organization at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, balancing competing priorities to produce high quality work.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience with managing communications for large-scale change initiatives.
- Affinity for technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with online content management and publishing systems a plus.
