Summary of Role:
The Senior Manager of Global Operations Communications will own the development and implementation of a strategic internal communications platform and messaging for GF's Chief Operations Officer that helps advance our business strategy, supports our corporate narrative and enables the transformation and scalability of GF’s Operations team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Executive and Employee Communications, this role will serve as a strategic communications partner to the COO and his leadership team and will be responsible for creating clear and concise communications to help our team better understand how GF is working to deliver quality product to its global customers, continue to grow its secure global manufacturing footprint, and engage its global team of more than 10,000 operations employees.
Essential Responsibilities:
Communication Strategy: Develop and implement strategic communication plans for Global Operations, ensuring alignment with the overall corporate communication strategy, editorial calendar and corporate calendar. Proactively counsel leaders on communications requirements
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with leaders and key internal stakeholders within Operations, collaborating closely to understand their communication needs and objectives.
Change Management: Lead communication efforts to support critical transformation work, including digital enterprise and manufacturing transformations including roll-out of new tools, capabilities and business processes; integrate communications with complementary change management actions (e.g., influencers, incentives, leadership effectiveness). .
Content Development: Create compelling and informative content, including internal communications, executive messaging, and presentations.
Executive Communication: Assist senior leaders in crafting and delivering effective communication, including speeches, presentations, and announcements. Partner with leaders to understand their communication needs, provide expert advice for overall communication strategy, and support individual and team-based capability building
People Management: Manage a small but highly focused ops communications team. Foster professional growth and career development.
Required Qualifications:
Education – Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or related field.
10+ years of experience in corporate communications and/or executive communications (including internal and external communications experience) developing world-class communications strategies and programs for employees and executives.
5+ years of experience supporting C-suite executives or business unit leaders.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and One Drive).
Travel - Up to 50%
Fluency in English Language – written & verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in a technical industry or sufficient technical background and understanding of high-tech to be able to incorporate technical messages fluently.
Experience supporting a manufacturing, retail or distribution organization and expertise in reaching/engaging individuals who have limited access to traditional internal communication channels, such as the intranet.
Demonstrated ability to work with and influence senior executives, providing positioning counsel and executing with a sense of urgency.
Global perspective and experience working at a global company; understanding and sensitivity to global differences and audience differentiation.
Strong executive presence.
Strategic thinking and data-driven, proactive execution.
Strong understanding of the communications ecosystem and the importance of multi-channel planning (internal and external channels).
High emotional intelligence; strong interpersonal communication skills.
Experience contributing to business goals through strategic communications for large, complex organizations.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the demonstrated ability to turn complex ideas into stories and visual concepts. A storyteller at heart.
Ability to present information in an accurate yet unique and compelling manner with an executive voice.
Mastery of modern communications workflow processes and tools, including videos, podcasts, etc.; strong understanding of external innovations and vendors.
Ability and affinity for working in a matrix environment with cross-collaboration and multiple lines of accountability
Ability to manage issues and remain calm under pressure
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Excellent analytical and time-management skills.
Experience working at a publicly traded company.
Expected Salary Range
$116,200.00 - $220,000.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
