Director of Business Travel Sales

Reports to: Director of Sales
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000
Position Overview
The Director of Business Travel Sales is a strategic revenue driver responsible for growing business transient and luxury transient segments. This role leads proactive sales efforts, builds high-value client relationships, and positions the hotel within both corporate and luxury travel markets.
This leader will focus on increasing market share, driving ADR, and elevating the hotel’s presence among corporate clients, luxury travel advisors, and key consortia partners.
Key Responsibilities
Business Transient Strategy & Execution
- Proactively generate business transient revenue through targeted prospecting, outside sales, and relationship development
- Build and manage a strong portfolio of corporate accounts, ensuring consistent production and long-term growth
- Analyze account performance and market trends using CI/TY, Agency360, and other tools to identify opportunities
- Develop and execute monthly and quarterly action plans aligned to revenue goals
- Partner with Revenue Management to align pricing strategy with market demand and maximize profitability
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and sales initiatives to increase visibility
Luxury Transient Growth
- Drive luxury transient production through strategic engagement with consortia and programs (Marriott STARS & Luminous, Virtuoso, Signature, Ensemble, Internova, etc.)
- Build and maintain relationships with top-tier luxury travel advisors and agencies
- Position the hotel for preferred placement and increased share within luxury channels
- Lead personalized sales efforts including advisor presentations, property tours, and FAM trips
- Partner cross-functionally to curate elevated VIP and luxury guest experiences
- Ensure rate integrity, program compliance, and optimized positioning across all luxury platforms
Market Positioning & Relationship Management
- Establish the hotel as a preferred partner within both corporate and luxury travel communities
- Maintain detailed account plans, including production goals, engagement strategy, and growth targets
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to proactively adjust strategy
- Collaborate with marketing to enhance storytelling, brand positioning, and targeted campaigns
Leadership & Commercial Strategy
- Contribute to annual sales planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Provide consistent reporting on segment performance, production, and pipeline health
- Align with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to drive overall commercial success
- Serve as a key ambassador for the hotel in the marketplace
Qualifications
- 2+ years of leadership experience in Business Transient or Hotel Sales
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth and building high-value client relationships
- Experience with CI/TY, TravelClick Agency360, or similar sales analytics tools
- Deep understanding of corporate and luxury travel segments
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with luxury travel programs and consortia strongly preferred
Work Environment
- Office-based with regular travel for client meetings, events, and industry engagement
- Requires flexibility to support client needs, including evenings and weekends as needed
