  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • Required Travel: local travel to Endeavor Health sites will be required for meetings and ongoing business (weekly).

Job Summary:

As the System Assistant Vice President, Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) at Endeavor Health you will function as a key member of the senior executive team serving as a catalyst for aligning clinical goals and business objectives. The CNIO is responsible for providing leadership, planning, implementation, and evaluation of technology solutions to enhance clinical practices, improve patient outcomes, and optimize staff workflows. The CNIO will serve as a bridge between nursing, IT, and other healthcare disciplines, ensuring that information technology investments align with the overarching goals of our health system and meet the evolving needs of our patients and staff.

The CNIO, working in collaboration with the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), will provide leadership to the clinical informatics team to assist the end users from all disciplines in the effective and efficient use of the electronic health record technology. The CNIO will focus on driving Endeavor Health to optimal clinician experience and engagement, as well as optimal patient experience, via the use of clinical information systems. Develops departmental short- and long-term goals in conjunction with the system CNE and hospital CNO’s.

What you will do:

Vision and Leadership:  Provides vision, leadership, and direction and has accountability for the alignment, effectiveness and the value return of the entire clinical informatics program.

Nursing Informatics Strategy:  Develop and execute a comprehensive nursing informatics strategy that aligns with the overall vision and goals of the health system. Drive the adoption of informatics solutions that enhance patient care, nursing practices, and clinical operations.

EHR Implementation and Workflow Redesign:  Participates in the planning, design, development and implementation of the patient care components of the electronic health record and automation of clinical practices. Serves as the nursing and clinical operational representative for process redesign and clinical workflow.

Collaboration with Leadership:  Works closely with the CNE, CIO, Quality Lead, HIM, and Risk/Legal to assure that clinical and business priorities relying on clinical IT resources are successfully addressed and the greatest possible value is extracted from Clinical Technology capabilities. 

Application Enhancement OversightProvides input into the development and oversees clinical application enhancement requests to ensure that the improvement efforts are coordinated between campuses and are aligned with and support corporate goals and initiatives.

Team Guidance and User Experience: Guides and directs the clinical informatics team to assure that clinical and operational stakeholders are able to utilize information to drive efficient, safe, and effective care and to create a positive user experience.

Change Management and Engagement:  Leads the clinician community in change and adoption as clinical IT capabilities and workflows evolve and assure the highest possible levels of engagement and satisfaction with clinical IT-dependent workflows.

Policy Development:  Supports the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide policy and procedures related to the technology and systems and its impact to nursing.

Metrics and Reporting:  Assures development and monitoring of nursing metrics, dashboards and other types of reporting needs.

What you will need:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) minimum requirement.

Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing, Informatics, Management Information Systems/Business Administration or healthcare related field.

Certification/Licensure: Current license as a Registered Nurse (preferred)

Board Certification in Nursing Informatics is preferred on hire and required within one year of hire.

Experience:

A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experiences in a multi-faceted patient care environment required.

Minimum of (5) five years’ experience with implementation and management of clinical informatics/information systems in a multi-hospital system is necessary.

Experience with Epic EHR applications.

A high level of knowledge in financial discipline, contracting and medical coding to support financial justification for initiatives, negotiating and reviewing contracts and analyzing financial benefits of documentation.
