JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY:

This position executes & monitors all demand & supply planning related activities to ensure optimum forecast submission and timely availability of material while meeting inventory targets, minimizing obsolescence and optimizing costs. In addition to supporting other functions from a reporting and tracking standpoints; this position also manages multiple supply chain projects to deliver against financial commitments

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Act as primary interface with other key internal stake holders
  • Supervise and develop demand and supply planning specialist
  • Lead and implement demand planning initiatives
  • Ensure effectiveness and accuracy in demand forecasting processes including S&OP review, inventory management; manage DIOH to maximize inventory turns, reduce scrap and to ensure a high quality forecast

Supply Planning

  • Lead and implement supply planning initiatives
  • Define optimum SNP parameters
  • Drive effective communication between Global/ Regional and local functions for supply issues
  • Streamline STOs review and creation process to minimize non-value added steps
  • Expedite urgent shipment with Global distribution centers/ plants

Inventory Management

  • Setup safely stock targets and reorder point, and proactively manage backorder
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control to meet LBE targets by working closely with commercial, marketing and finance team
  • Coordinate with customer service, regulatory and marketing for product phase-in/out process
  • Facilitate stock return with supply plants
  • Monitor short UBD, inactive Inventory, phase-in/phase-out, communicating with business partners to minimize the negative cost impact
  • Monitor safety stock and reorder points without hampering the customer service levels
  • Coordinate phase-in/phase-out processes with regulatory and marketing
  • Develop strategy to reduce DOH
  • Coordinate inventory allocation and/or transfer during times of supply constrain or in excess

Continuous Improvement

  • Initiate continuous improvement for driving demand forecast accuracy, minimizing supply constraints risks and optimizing inventory
  • Provide trainings to team members to enhance quality of work

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the country.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance appraisals; evaluating and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Perform other related functions and responsibilities assigned by supervisor
  • Handle and process customer complaints in timely manner and according to Abbott and country’s policy and requirement
  • Ensure applicable SOP of Abbott executed
  • Prepare for Audits, Compliances & SOX, etc., Documentations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in business/operations management/supply chain/equivalent;
  • 7 to 10 years’ experience with at least 2 years at supervisory level
  • This role is expected to supervise a small team of specialist level employees. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.  Ability to lead small team.  Project management capabilities.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of various forecasting techniques, root cause analysis, solid project management as well as ERP systems
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, proactive and self-motivated. Attention to detail.  Meet deadlines under pressure.
