Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead – PHP Developer with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance PHP applications. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, backend development, and modern software engineering best practices. You will be responsible for writing clean, scalable code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle.

 Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate on requirements analysis and contribute to technical design concepts aligned with architectural standards.  
• Design, develop, debug, test, and document scalable web applications using PHP and modern frameworks.  
• Develop and customise applications using modern PHP frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel, and WordPress.  
• Build and maintain e-commerce solutions leveraging e-commerce platforms and integrate with third-party APIs.  
• Drive the evolution and maintenance of internal and customer projects, including custom module development.  
• Produce clear technical documentation, user stories, and use cases to support development and maintenance.  
• Ensure high-quality code, following SOLID principles, PSR standards, and best practices for security and performance.  
• Take ownership of deliverables, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and quality benchmarks.  
• Follow development standards, architectural guidelines, and participate in code reviews.  
• Act as a technical mentor, guiding junior developers and sharing knowledge within the team.  
• Serve as the primary troubleshooter for complex or escalated technical issues.  
• Contribute to effort estimation, sprint planning, and provide innovative solutions in a fast-changing environment.  
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to continuously improve development processes.  
• Demonstrate adaptability by learning and applying new technologies as required. 

Professional and Technical Skills

• A seasoned PHP developer with 5+ years of experience in building robust web applications.  

• Strong hands-on expertise in PHP, Symfony, and Laravel, with experience in WordPress development.  

• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end practices.  

• Experience with e-commerce platforms and API integrations.  

• Knowledge of Linux environments, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.  

• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.  

• Solid understanding of testing methodologies (unit, integration, functional) and tools like PHPUnit.  

• Customer-focused with an appreciation for UX principles and performance optimisation.  

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex incidents effectively.  

• Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.  

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum environment.  

Demonstrates ownership, persistence, and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
