Facilities Operative

Darlington with travel across Northeast including

Full time, Permanent, 42.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

 Salary up to £27,892 per annum, plus, company vehicle & fuel card.

Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.

About the Role:

As a Facilities Operative within our Darlington branch, you work within Housing team delivering a range of services to our clients, including a range of Hard, Soft and Grounds Maintenance services and this role is pivotal in ensuring that all or a combination of maintenance, compliance, cleaning and grounds tasks are completed. The main roles includes checking and fixing emergency lights, fire alarm systems, smoke alarms and legionella. Within this role there may be a little bit of pat testing where required.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience with fire alarms and emergency lighting
  • Working within a similar role
  • Social housing experience
  • Team player and ability to work alone
  • Excellent communication
