Job Summary: 

The Senior Tax Associate works with the India Tax Specialist, Team Lead and Manager to extract invoices from client databases, identify & enter sales tax information from invoices to an access or excel database. Format and reconcile the data with source data from the client. Analyze data from invoices and submit a summary report. To conduct review on all task performed by the team.

People:

  • Create a positive team experience.
  • Should be able to identify and schedule training as required on all process updates or refreshers.

Clients:

  • Proactive work status update to International / India liaison.
  • Downloading & extracting invoices from client networks.
  • Prepare reports as per the requirements from consultants.
  • Perform peer to peer quality assurance review.
  • Ensure all the projects reviewed and error tracking is executed at all levels and recorded in the quality tracker.
  • Develop quality control methods to identify errors and improve accuracy.
  • Have exposure in interacting with offshore/onshore staff via email and telephone and timely communication on project status to Project Contact including designated members.
  • Complete tasks assigned by Management with a sense of urgency and confidentiality where needed.

Value:

  • Identifying and entering sales tax details from the invoices into the database. 
  • Reconcile the values from different data sources.
  • Analyze data from invoices and submit a summary report.
  • Act as a backup to the Tax Specialist when required.

Education and Experience:

  • Masters or Bachelors Degree in Finance/ Commerce/ Accounting/ Business.
  • 2-4 years of experience in US Taxation.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills in Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
