Summary of the Position:

Tishman Speyer is seeking to hire a Mechanic. This person will be responsible for repair, maintenance, and upkeep of all Tishman Speyer Client Services departmental equipment.  The successful candidate will help to create and maintain an appearance and high functionality while ensuring the efficiency and safety of all equipment up to Tishman Speyer standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain vacuums, vehicles, floor maintenance machines, scrubbers, pressure washers and other utility and emergency equipment such as wet vacs and blowers.
  • Maintain and prepare walk behinds, pressure washers and snow equipment.
  • Log and monitoring compactor and trash bin drop offs, noncompactible, and compost.
  • Daily tracking of trash disposal deposited by Tishman Speyer’s facilities to the open container.
  • Request parts for repair through company request system.
  • Keep track of equipment inventory, loaners, requests and status.
  • Ensure mechanic shop is kept organized and clean up to Tishman Speyer cleanliness standards and securing the shop in times of absence.
  • Clean and store utility and emergency equipment in a presentable, labeled and organized manner.
  • Effectively communicate with Management regarding repairs on equipment affecting their properties.
  • Assist with manual snow and ice removal and ice melt application and operate snow removal equipment.
  • Operate the company Pick-up Truck to travel to and from outside properties for repairs and/or emergencies.
  • Additional tasks as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Passion for maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbally and written.
  • Required to operate elevators with frequent ascending and descending.
  • Must have a valid and active driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an extended period, at a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Ability to travel between floors and buildings.
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, reach over-head, place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to work outdoors with varying temperatures ranging from 0 – 100+.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment that may be required, such as but not limited to: safety glasses, safety goggles, face shield, chemical-resistant reusable gloves, disposable gloves, face mask for infectious disease control, nuisance dust mask, and closed shoes with non-slip soles.
  • Must be able to open and close doors and gates on manually operated elevators and loading docks less than or equal to 15 pounds of pressure.

The base compensation for this role is $32.698
