Director, Business Performance Insights – Hotels.com

The Traveler Business Team has a mission to deliver the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable ways for people to travel and explore the world. This division has responsibility to build and drive the growth of our global consumer business across our Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, and Portfolio brands, and across all our lines of businesses including Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Air, Car, Packages, and Insurtech.  

We are looking for a Director of Business Performance Insights tojoin Hotels.com at Expedia Group. This role will be responsible for leading the business performance insights for Hotels.com, which is one of the largest brands in the Expedia portfolio with a fiercely loyal customer base.

You will partner with Finance, Supply and Analytics teams to create compelling business performance insights to help Hotels.com win in the marketplace.  

What you'll do:

  • Lead the development of advanced forecasting models and set ambitious yet achievable targets for Hotels.com’s business funnel
  • Oversee the analysis of key site metrics (e.g., traffic, conversion, GBV, cancellations, take rate, booked revenue, GP) across multiple dimensions such as Brand, Geo, Experience (or platform), Channel, and Line of Business
  • Deliver high-level reports and insights for weekly leadership team meetings in partnership with Finance, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy
  • Conduct and supervise deep dives into business performance with various cross-functional teams to uncover actionable insights and drive strategic initiatives
  • Own insights with the Finance team, Supply, Analytics to round out performance and understand short, medium, and long-term trends
  • Lead the analysis of data to answer critical questions about website performance for the previous month, week, and day, providing a clear narrative on performance drivers
  • Utilize advanced predictive analytics to forecast future website performance, identifying potential opportunities and risks
  • Drive opportunities to size new initiatives/businesses

Who you are:

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in business management, ecommerce, economics or financial planning within the travel and/or tech industry
  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business Management, Economics) or MBA preferred; or equivalent in related professional experience
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture
  • Proven experience identifying and evaluating key market trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Led large, advanced, marketing insights programs delivering exceptional outcomes typically involving cross functional teams
  • Experience working across diverse markets and understanding regional nuances, global experience preferred 
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with various levels of the organization 
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, SQL and Tableau preferred 

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $196,000 to $274,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $313,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in New York is $208,000 to $291,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $333,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $185,500 to $260,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $297,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $196,000.00 to $274,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $313,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
