DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

St. Charles Health System Diagnostic Imaging Departments perform X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and PET/CT exams in a variety of locations.  We work closely with our partners at Cascade Medical Imaging to meet the imaging needs of our community and to support the ED, OR, Inpatient Floors, and Family Birthing Center. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Non-Certified General Radiologic Technologist will performs all Radiographic studies, and related procedures at a technical level requiring indirect supervision in accordance with established department and hospital guidelines.  May only operate the applicable medical imaging modality under the indirect supervision of a licensed physician, or an individual licensed by the Board and credentialed by a credentialing organization in the medical imaging modality identified on the temporary license. This position does not supervise other Caregivers.  This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Performs  General Radiology  examinations in accordance with department policies, procedures, and protocols.

Follows Health and Safety Policies and Procedures of quality patient care.

Works as a collaborative member of the health care team including physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in diagnostic testing procedures such as fluoroscopy, trauma and surgery

Performs clerical duties, transports patients as required and maintains proper inventory of supplies

Assists in record maintenance and statistics as requested.

Participates in student training program as requested.

Assists with special projects as requested.

Must work under indirect supervision.

Provides coverage in General Radiology including on call coverage, holiday and weekend relief as needed.

Competent skills working with Nighthawk System.

EDUCATION

                  

Required:  High school diploma or GED.   Must be graduate eligible of a certified radiologic technology training program.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Required:  Current  temporary license in Radiologic Technology (OBMI).  American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA BLS/CPR).

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.

Continually (75% or more): Standing and walking, keyboard operation, use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.

Home Health and Wound Caregivers.

Occasionally (25%): Bending, stooping/kneeling/crouching, climbing ladder/step-stool (varies by area), reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 25-50 pounds, grasping/squeezing, ability to hear whispered speech level.
