Senior Capital Markets & Banking Associate
As a future Senior Associate in our Luxembourg Capital Markets & Banking team, you will play a key role in leading and managing a broad spectrum of complex cross-border transactions. You will advise top-tier clients, including financial institutions, funds, investment banks, public entities, corporates from various industry sectors, and private equity houses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the drafting, review, and negotiation of finance documents and legal opinions in the context of syndicated lending deals, real estate, fund, asset and acquisition finance, and debt restructuring transactions.
- Managing and coordinating all aspects of capital markets and lending transactions, including supervising junior team members and ensuring seamless execution of deals.
- Structuring, advising, and overseeing securitisation transactions and structured finance deals, providing strategic guidance to clients and team members.
- Advising on and managing various debt capital markets transactions and securities issuances, including listing matters and regulatory compliance.
- Providing expert advice on regulatory and other aspects of finance transactions and capital markets practice, including complex and novel issues.
- Leading client presentations, contributing to legal publications, and representing the firm in client meetings and industry events.
- Mentoring and training junior lawyers, sharing expertise and supporting their professional development.
- Contributing to business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and strengthening client relationships.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SOUGHT
- Master’s degree in Law.
- Admission to a European or Luxembourg Bar.
- Significant relevant work experience, typically 5+ years, in capital markets, banking, or finance law.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages such as German and/or French is highly valued.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to distil complex legal and financial issues and deliver strategic, practical advice.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing multiple high-value matters and transactions simultaneously.
- Demonstrated sense of responsibility, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality advice and services to clients.
- Experience in business development, client relationship management, and contributing to thought leadership (e.g., legal publications, presentations).
