About the Project

ACCIONA delivers major rail upgrades as part of the Southern Program Alliance, removing level crossings and improving safety and reliability across Melbourne’s Frankston line. The program upgrades stations, rail infrastructure and surrounding precincts, creating long term improvements for local communities.

The Position

The Survey Data Modeller will review, collate and/or maintain upstream and downstream datasets. Ensuring that all works conform to the Project Drawings, Specifications and Australian Standards as directed by the Package Survey Lead and/or Alliance Survey Manager.

Role Responsibilities:

• Review feature survey and utility datasets for accuracy and completeness
• Preparation of hardstand models and site wide DTM’s
• Review design datasets for accuracy and identify any inaccuracies between BIM models and IFC plans
• Understanding of survey field setout requirements and the datasets required to facilitate site works
• Comprehensive understanding of file formats and conversions between various software packages
• Understanding of metadata attribution to ensure compliance to data exchange requirements
• Where necessary undertake small surveys to verify dataset accuracy
• Compilation of As-built datasets to meet quality assurance requirements and reporting

• Certificate IV in Surveying or similar

• 3+ years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment

• 12D (Model, Field, and Synergy) experience, ability to develop macros highly desirable

• Intermediate knowledge of Office 365 Suite specifically Excel

• CAD software – AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar

• Survey adjustment software - STAR*NET, Move3 or similar

• Understanding of point cloud capture, registration and extraction or a willingness to learn

• Knowledge of required survey outputs for integration into broader project DE systems

• Ability to implement metadata requirements to survey deliverables for broader consumption by the client and other interested third parties
