CACI has an exciting and immediate opportunity for Enterprise WAN Transport Operations Technicians to support the US Air Force Central Command (USAFCENT) Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). This position works at the customer on-site Tier 2/3 support location at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina in a service provider capacity to Air Force customers throughout Southwest Asia.   This is a shift work position in a work center providing 24x7x365 support.

Shaw AFB is conveniently located.  A 2-hour drive to the north gets you to Charlotte, NC, to the east is Myrtle Beach, and Charleston, SC is to the south. The state capital of Columbia is less than an hour’s drive and where many workers live. You’ll have access to big city excitement, a quiet beach walk or small-town Southern hospitality.

More About the Role:

  • Provide 24/7 Tier 2 enterprise IT help desk technical support to deployed users.
  • Troubleshoot and develop solutions with Loal Area Network/Wide Area Network (i.e., LAN/WAN) protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).
  • Configure, monitor and trouble-shoot Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone network.
  • Configure Cisco Segment Routing.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot WAN transport systems in support of the USAFCENT Black Core Network where multiple different networks are traversing virtual paths where all traffic is encrypted at the IP Layer.
  • Develop standardized testing and cutover plans for WAN equipment.
  • Establish testing and remote monitoring procedures to ensure reliable operation of WAN transport in theater.
  • Collect networking metrics for analysis to identify sub-standard performance remotely and locally. Analyze metrics and recognize sub-par network performance.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Quality of Service (QoS) involving traffic policing, traffic shaping, and traffic queuing.
  • Maintain and operate Cisco Collaboration products such as CUCM and VTCs
  • Maintain and operate Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network authentication.
  • Report system and network issues for analysis and trending of bandwidth and network security incidents.
  • Work in conjunction with the Information Assurance Department to operate the Cisco FirePower Intrusion Prevention Systems specific to the Department of Defense as well as many commercial information assurance tools.
  • Provide first-level technical support to deployed users and escalate complex problems as required.
  • Act as a consultant and provide feedback to optimize WAN transport networks.
  • Identify and evaluate the operational impact of all outages.
  • Report communication status to higher headquarters as needed.
  • Coordinate with external agencies for outage resolution as required by local policy.

Additional Duties:

  • This position may volunteer to deploy/travel Outside the Continental US (OCONUS) within the USCENTCOM AOR to support operations, projects, and training as desired.
  • Travel to CONUS locations as required.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start date.
  • Bachelors in related field and 7 or more years’ experience
  • Relevant experience:
    • Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding of Cisco routers and switches.
    • Cisco Collaboration products such as Cisco Unified communications Manager (CUCM) or Cisco Video Teleconference (VTC)
    • Strong TCP/IP fundamentals
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Completion of additional Professional Certifications.
    • CCNA
    • ITIL Foundation within 60 days of your start date

  • Experience working in DoD, Air Force, and local base environments.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$67,100 - $141,000
