Field Service & Maintenance:
Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on generators and HVAC systems.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
Install, test, and commission generator and HVAC systems at public safety customer locations.
Conduct inspections, load tests, and performance checks to ensure system reliability.
Generator Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair diesel, gas, and propane generators.
Replace and repair components such as alternators, voltage regulators, and control panels.
HVAC Responsibilities:
Service and maintain HVAC Units
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical and mechanical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate service records, job logs, and equipment reports.
Provide professional customer support, answer questions, and explain repairs and maintenance procedures.
Follow safety protocols, industry standards, and company policies during all tasks.
Be willing to learn and expand knowledge in related fields such as two-way radio and computer-based diagnostics.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC, mechanical, or electrical systems preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in generator and/or HVAC maintenance and repair.
Licenses/Certifications: Relevant trade certifications, EPA Section 608 certification (preferred), and a valid driver’s license (required).
Skills:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
Good communication and customer service skills
Willingness to learn new skills, including two-way radio and computer systems
Travel/Location Requirements:
The Field Service Technician role is located in the state of Mississippi.
Must be willing to travel to public safety customer locations to service their HVAC and Generators.
Full-time, with occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
Flexibility for occasional travel may be required to support project needs.
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

2+ years of experience in one of the following: HVAC, Generators, LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Networking Equipment, or Military experience
Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)
