Job Summary:
The Principal of Pricing & Packaging is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping the long-term pricing strategy that will guide the successful launch of new products, new packaging, and pricing strategies. This role drives market competitiveness, profitability, and customer alignment by analyzing market trends, competitor pricing, and customer segmentation, while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure new product pricing aligns with business goals. The Pricing Director will partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop innovative pricing models and ensure seamless integration into sales and quoting processes.
 
What you'll do:
  • Long-Term Pricing Strategy:
    • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, customer segmentation, product profitability, and price elasticity to develop sustainable pricing strategies.
    • Identify opportunities to optimize pricing structures for long-term growth and competitive advantage.
    • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership and cross functional stakeholders based on comprehensive pricing studies.
    • Work with market & pricing analyst to evaluate pricing performance through pricing studies, elasticity models across the customer ecosystem (Buyer, Supplier, Partner).
    • Inform our Strategic Partnership team as they build pricing that supports the long-term partner strategy.
  • Project Management:
    • Project manage initiatives to grow existing customers wallet share, ensuring smooth execution and minimal disruption.
    • Execute promotional pricing in partnership with Systems & Tools team to ensure proper documentation and system updates.
    • Coordinate with PMK, RevOps, marketing and sales teams to align promotional pricing with campaign timing.
    • Ensure pricing meets requirements for billing automation, legal & compliance.
  • New Product Launches:
    • Collaborate with product marketing lead, and cross functionally with sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of new product pricing strategies.
    • Lead the creation and pricing of new products & services, ensuring alignment with market demand and company objectives.
    • Assess implications of new products on existing order forms, sales alignment, and quoting rules.
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in pricing strategy, product management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in SaaS, Payments and/or Fintech preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in market analysis, price elasticity, and profitability modeling.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new products and developing long-term pricing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in pricing tools, data analysis software, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce CPQ).
