About the Role

Here at LNRS Insurance, our company goals and the quality of our users’ experiences are deeply connected. As such, Product research and design is fundamental discipline for translating high level business objectives into impactful and satisfying user experiences.

This role, Senior Product Designer, is in charge of all research, design and testing efforts for their area of focus (predominantly a web-app mobile-first product offering). You set the gold standard for UX/ UI for your area and demonstrate successful approaches to reflect the business challenge through user-centered designs. While doing so, you’ll also help foster a design culture of humility, growth, and satisfaction for the design team as a whole. Beyond the tactical UX/ UI skills, a successful senior product designer on this team demonstrates superb relationship management, steadfast ownership and a constant desire to improve the experiences we deliver to our users.

All Product Designers on this team are empowered to think strategically. You will be given the problem to solve, but you retain the space and autonomy to decide how to solve them. Within that space, guidance and mentorship will always be present and available to you.

About You

  • Desire to build and own the direction for discovery, design, and testing exercises across the double diamond process model
  • Willing to challenge the problems that are given to them as well as the solutions they propose
  • Deep experience in a variety of mobile design efforts represented through a portfolio of designs, case studies, or presentation decks
  • Brings humility to their own work and expects the same from their teammates
  • Shares their work early and often, knowing designs shouldn’t be ‘done’ by the time they’re reviewed by their team
  • Wants high collaboration with product managers, developers, business analysts and other designers
  • Keeps a steady pulse on how ‘best in class’ for our industry is evolving and translates that into future iterations of our users’ experiences
  • Ability to quickly iterate through solutions while knowing the point of diminishing returns for any point in the design process
  • Experienced with growing and maintaining flexible design systems, preferably using Figma
  • 5-7 years experience in Product Design or UX/ UI Design, ideally working within a Product-driven team or organization

What You’ll Accomplish

  • For the experience you own, you will define what success means for our users and will bind that success to our company goals.
  • From beginning to end, you will have projects that prove real, tangible business value to the UX opportunities you explore.
  • Throughout your work, you will demonstrate the value of the UX Process and will share out successful case studies and exercises that the larger organization can learn from
  • Within the organization, you will create true advocates and trusted partners of the UX Process.
  • You will drive measurable impact at a fast pace with a keen focus on customer value, adoption, and satisfaction.
  • By re-imagining our mobile experiences, you will be helping craft a wholly unique experience that is already changing an industry from the ground up – making a real world impact for people and doing it with awesome team members.

Your Responsibilities

  • Within our mobile suite of products, you will own all UX/ UI design responsibilities and decide where and when research/ testing efforts are best spent. You will…
    • Own the design creation and iteration of all features for your focus area within our mobile product offering
    • Identify opportunities to research user needs and test new solutions with users throughout the product lifecycle
    • Engage with senior leadership and help craft the future vision we have for our mobile product offering
    • Partner closely with the Product team, other designers, developers, as well as the stakeholders of your projects to ensure design efforts align with business goals, product priorities, and development feasibility
    • Frequently track and share your work through all needed channels for team visibility
    • Present your designs and research outcomes with tangible next steps to project team members as well as senior leadership
  • Contribute to a positive, constructive environment where everyone feels valued and is excited to build best-in-class work together
  • Believes in shared ownership of the design work

Role You’ll Play:

  • Collaborate with project teams and our clients to understand client business requirements for digital strategy and advocate for the customer by developing intuitive interactions and easy-to-use interfaces
  • Work closely with project managers, design, engineering, and quality assurance
  • Bring user-centered design (UCD) process methods to digital solutions from concept to launch
  • Clearly articulate and defend your design decisions in front of teams and clients
  • Identify and execute on the best methods for user research and testing within client constraints
  • Work within an agile methodology
  • Provide strategic solutions for early-stage project planning
  • Independently deliver on projects and work with others on teams
  • Help the team plan and run effective client workshops and client stakeholder meetings
  • Facilitate effective decision-making with clients
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, mockups, and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Monitor and have knowledge of wider industry UX trends and relevant technology trends
