The Senior Assistant Manager plays an instrumental role in providing HR operational support to Schools / Colleges (units) on the Appointment, Reappointment, Promotion, Tenure and Exit Management processes for the faculty population in the University. The Senior Assistant Manager will supervise and guide a team of Senior/Executives to support these HR operations at the assigned Schools. He/She will ensure the delivery of Service Level Agreement (SLA) and be involved in process improvement projects.

In addition, he/she may be the Specialist to support the Lead, Faculty in the University level Faculty Appointment and Reappointment (FAR) Committee or the Promotion & Tenure (PTRC) meeting.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of HR Officers and oversee both the HR administration and advisory support to enable effective HR operations in Faculty matters related to Appointment, Reappointment, Job Changes, Promotion and Exit management in alignment with University’s policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure data accuracy in updates of all entries in HRIS including but not limited to hire data, one-time payment, assigning costing allocations, concurrent appointment updates in HRIS completed by team members
  • Involve in coordinating activities in supporting University level meetings related to Faculty Appointment, Reappointment as well as Promotion
  • Ensure tasks and enquiries undertaken are resolved and completed in a timely manner in accordance with the service level agreements (SLA)
  • Improve processes and procedures to ensure high standards of service and work quality, efficiency and governance
  • Drive and/or participate in projects and process reviews
  • Collaborate and build good working relationships with stakeholders within the University
  • Expected to manage a team of 4 officers. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, or a related discipline ie. Human Resources
  • Preferably minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an Administrative and/or HR environment with supervisory skills
  • Good knowledge of the Employment Act and Labour laws of Singapore
  • Comfortable to handle/review high volume of administrative transactions
  • Strong writing skills is essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and PowerPDF
  • Working knowledge with Workday is advantageous
