This exciting role delivers growth to The Experience Studio at Amex GBT in North America with a focus on the US market.
Key focus of this role is new client sales as well as cross selling from other areas business within Amex GBT Group. The role requires effective researching and qualifying of prospects, and creating win strategies to build a high value pipeline to ensure successful achievement of targets.

Strong knowledge of the live corporate event marketplace is essential to be able to develop solutions and pitch materials that perfectly deliver to the client requirements. The ability to identify business opportunities and achieve profitable new business for a The Experience Studio at Amex GBT Meetings & Events is key.  The role requires a tenacious appetite to search out and convert new client opportunities for The Experience Studio.

What You'll Do:

  • Identify, manage and drive prospects through the selling lifecycle in the US live corporate events market environment
  • Contribute towards the profitability of the company by focusing on high revenue generating opportunities
  • Confidently sell our whole Experience Studio portfolio of services – Sourcing, Event Management, Group Travel & Creative Production
  • Engage proactively across the Amex GBT business at all levels – building a multi-function network
  • Collaborate with cross selling opportunities from Strategic Meeting clients, Business Travel clients and other areas within Amex GBT
  • Generate new business leads and client conversions
  • Successfully build relationships and engage at key stakeholder level
  • Monitor and build market and competitor awareness
  • Network and represent the company in industry communities, including delivering speaking engagements and work with creative team to deliver sales material and produce high quality pitch responses to win new business
  • Own RFI and RFP responses and processes acting as bid captain, leading the work on pricing, negotiations, proposal building, pitch presentations and contracting.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven track record in sales negotiations, new business results and closing skills in the corporate events marketplace
  • Minimum 5 years experience with a successful track record from a Business Development Role, preferably within high caliber event production
  • Experience of the live experiential events industry
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills and comfortable liaising with stakeholder spectrum; C-level, Marketing, Heads of Department, procurement, internal operations & event managers
  • Fluent in written and spoken Business English, a second European language would be advantageous
  • Dynamic and enthusiastic team player and collaborator
  • Excellent client communication and presentation skills and excellent networker and relationship builder
  • Independent and highly motivated, target driven plus be able to work well in a Team in a virtual environment with the ability to lead, influence and motivate others - indirect reports, internal and external
  • Consultative communication skills, including presentation, sales and negotiation in a business to business environment
  • Strong financial acumen and Bachelor's degree preferred, CMP and/or SMMC designation a plus.
  • Ability to travel by airplane, boat, rail and/or car.

Targeted selling audience includes Heads/VP level clients as well as Event/Communication/Marketing/Sales Managers and Meetings Professionals and client Procurement teams. This role will work very closely with the creative teams in the Experience Studio to deliver winning proposals and presentations, as well as to unpick the client brief and lead on solution delivery.

This role will be part of our Global Sales Team for The Experience Studio at Amex GBT and report into the Global Director of Sales, and will also be supported by peers and leaders from North America as well as globally.

The US national base salary range for this position is from 

$88,200.00 - $163,800.00

The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.

In addition to base salary, the anticipated range of which is posted above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus which rewards participants based on individual and/or company performance.
