Job Description Summary:

As an expert in interventional management and the care of the patient population, this position provides in-depth, proactive consultation and direction to the service line director, hospital staff and physicians concerning the daily operations, yearly budgeting, planning resource and equipment utilization and execution to ensure that the organization meets or exceeds the goals as measured on the Balanced Scorecard. This position will influence customer satisfaction indicators including staff and physician behavior throughout the service line. In addition, responsibilities include: 1. Works closely with senior leadership on planning, designing, and implementing improvement strategies. 2. Collaborates closely with the team. 3. Responsible for identifying areas for improvement through meetings, observation, data analysis and assessments with the unit/department staff. 4. Helps direct teams in developing action plans and strategy to achieve desired results. 5. Assist director with special projects involving overall operations.

This position reports to the Director of Cardiac Cath.  This position manages 2 call team leaders in the Cardiac Cath and IR departments. This position also directly supervises 20+ non-supervisory employees. This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position is accountable for salary, expense and operations of Cath, EP, Cath Angio (IR). This position is accountable for CVL, EP and IR Inpatient and Outpatient Revenue.

Responsibilities And Duties:

The Department Manager is responsible for all operational functions of the Cath Lab, IRand EP Lab, as those operations support the hospital mission, vision and organizational goals. The manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the hospital mission, vision and organizational goals. The manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the financial performance of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customer needs and expectations. The manager analyzes customer satisfaction data and clinical outcomes in order to identify opportunities to improve services and develop corresponding strategies that incorporate employee involvement.

The manager works with Cardiovascular Administration in meeting organizational goals. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.

1. 30% Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates operational activities of the Cardiac Cath Lab, IR and Electrophysiology Department, and recommends changes to improve operations of department in conjunction with service line leadership and physicians.

2. 20% Oversees the management team of the Cath Lab, IR and EP Lab and holds them accountable for assigned areas of responsibility and directs and coordinates personnel activities of department.

3. 20% Prepares departmental annual budget under the guidance of the Director of Cardiology and monitors and manages expenditure of departmental funds. Provides a monthly variance explanation to the Director of Cardiology.

4. 15% : Ensures that all hospital policies and procedures are followed by staff and ensures that departmental manuals are updated and maintained on a regular basis. Maintains familiarity with standards for accreditation and ensures compliance of self and staff with standards required by outside agencies.

5. 15% : Demonstrates employee and customer centric philosophy that fosters patient safety and quality as departmental priorities. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)LIC - Licensed in Field - State of Ohio

Additional Job Description:

Field of Study: Nursing or health related field. Preferred Experience includes management of personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, physician relations, supplies, inventory, vendor management and management of supervisory positions. 5 years of management leadership Experience required.
