The Team  

Enterprise Architecture (EA) are a crew focused on developing and delivering strategies to that keep us at the forefront of banking and internal end-user technology. They consult, define and build reference architectures for our business and technology stakeholders, including delivery roadmaps that allow agility and room to pivot in an ever-evolving technology landscape.

The Role

As the Principal Enterprise Architect – Artificial Intelligence (AI) you will lead the design of world-class enterprise domain architectures, leveraging your passion for AI, and specifically GenAI, to deliver process optimisation and efficiencies that lead to better outcomes for our colleagues and customers.  

Leveraging a career as a Solution Architect, and a passion for harnessing the opportunities presented in emerging technologies, you will partner with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and leadership stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of AI solutions into our business processes, ensuring thorough alignment with best-practice principals and our Group strategic objectives.

To achieve this, this position requires you to:

  • Lead the architectural design and implementation of AI solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide standards and strategies.

  • Provide consultative advice to business stakeholders on opportunities, the effective application and best-practice implementation of AI strategies that deliver improvements in operational efficiency and/or meet other business needs.

  • Oversee the appropriate governance, compliance and risk mitigation requirements across the AI architecture framework, solution decisioning and implementation roadmaps.

  • Partner with Product Owners, Engineers and Data Scientists to design world leading Generative AI enabled customer outcomes.

  • Collaborate with business units, engineering teams, data scientists and data engineers to ensure the deliver of solutions that are fit for purpose, scalable and resilient.

  • Communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences and stakeholder groups.

  • Foster an environment, innovation, continuous learning, change flexibility and adaptability.

  • Drive a culture of AI literacy and implement best-practices in machine learning hygiene.

Key Skills and Experiences

As the Principal Enterprise Architect – Artificial Intelligence you will bring:

Technical Competence:

  • A tertiary degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering or related field of study, or significant experience in successfully delivering enterprise grade, scalable AI solutions, including microservices architecture, RESTful APIs and distributed systems.

  • Deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, including Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision.

  • Extensive experience on cloud platforms, including AI and Machine Learning services such as AWS SageMaker and AzureML.

  • Demonstrable competence on Big Data technologies and data engineering principles, including data ingestion, processing, and transformation using tools like Apache Spark and Hadoop.

  • Expert knowledge on data governance frameworks, data quality, and data security practices.

Commercial Acumen:

  • Visionary mindset, particularly the ability to engage with and lead a high performing team of innovative technical partners.

  • Ability to align solutions to business current and future commercial goals.

  • Data-driven insight on our competitor landscape, and the ability to influence decisions that drive the organisations competitive advantage.

  • Understanding of P&L, identifying opportunities to minimise duplications and maximise utilisation.

  • Partnering with business specialists to understand market trends, capitalisation opportunities and performance outcomes.

  • Navigating stakeholder groups effectively through periods of change, the ambiguity the of test/learn processes.

  • Influencing a culture of innovation, active listening, continuous questioning, best practice governance and continuous learning.
