Job Description:

The Systems Inspector Engineer attends Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) And Meyer Werft (MW) inspections, documents deficiencies, tracks remediation efforts, escalates deficiencies promptly, and coordinates with all WDI team members and external stakeholders on venue readiness to permit dependencies to proceed on schedule.

This role will require you to be on-site in Papenburg, Germany and in-the-field five days per week.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to execute on the deployment design of the I.T. Systems to support the completion of each venue in a timely fashion.

  • Partner with peer organizations, ensuring their schedules and milestones are met to facilitate WDI operational requirements.

  • Coordinate inspection planning, and deliver consistent reporting and documentation to stakeholders on project deficiencies, and overall status.

  • Plans and executes inspection processes to allow for quick, easy, inspections in the field by a variety of team members.

  • Design and utilize documentation to allow all stakeholders access to information efficiently. Documentation should be stored in a collaborative platform allowing for multiple stakeholders to access the data either online or offline as needs may require.

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders on the day-to-day inspection schedules.

  • Identifies deficiencies and alerts stakeholders in a timely fashion to concerns and issues while also presenting the remediation steps that will correct the deficiency. If deficiencies are not remediated in a timely fashion escalate the deficiency using the CRI process.

  • Develop standardized template for CRI reporting to allow team members to keep consistent feedback to stakeholders.

  • Develops documentation to track the status of all copper and fiber cabling around the ship and their status working in conjunction with relevant Project Managers. Documentation should be designed to display the current stage a cable is at (i.e. pulled to room, pulled to rack, dressed, terminated, etc.)

  • Develops processes to allow a variety of team members and stakeholders to quickly identify I.T. cables in the field thus allowing them to focus efforts elsewhere.

  • Collaborates with Deployment Project Manager to enable PM to deploy equipment in the field as soon as a venue is ready.

  • Provides status reports on time and in such a format that it can be used in overall project reporting.

  • Develops relationships with Internal Technology Team Members and External Stakeholders to facilitate collaborative efforts in finding creative solutions to issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of progressively related experience in Engineering and/or Technology.

  • Fluency in written and spoken German language

  • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to take direction, adapt to change, establish relationships, and work collaboratively with people across all levels.

  • Manage vendor relationships.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Previous experience in Cruise Line or Construction

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field or related work experience.
