What you'll do

As a Risk & Controls Specialist, you’ll be applying effective risk management and decision-making capability, anticipating and assessing the potential impacts of risk across bank. You’ll be supporting management in identifying and assessing material risks, and in determining their position relative to agreed appetites.

On top of this, you’ll be working with senior stakeholders across the bank to drive forward the development and delivery of remedial action plans where identified risks are considered out of appetite.

You’ll also be:

  • Leading and driving the risk management plans, as well as participating in risk and control forums
  • Providing strong oversight and challenge to the functional teams
  • Ensuring compliance with operational risk and Sarbanes Oxley policies
  • Monitoring changes in the bank’s policies and framework and assessing their implications
  • Carrying out adhoc investigation and reporting in response to emerging risks and issues

The skills you'll need

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a professional accounting qualification such as a CA, CPA or CIMA. We’ll also need you to have a good knowledge of IFRS standards and regulatory policies, and it would be ideal if you have experience in a finance role.
