This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. As a member of the Wafer Fab Manufacturing Operations team, you will fulfill the role of an Inspection Metrology Associate - IMA.  In addition to a Wafer Fab production role, the incumbent’s primary responsibility will be ensuring the accurate and timely execution of all designated inspection and metrology tasks in the Wafer Fab in support of quality and production goals. 

What You’ll Do

  • Using exceptional cross-training and product knowledge, perform all required inspection and metrology tasks in support of manufacturing efforts. 

  • Consistently execute to documented inspection and metrology criteria. 

  • Consistently and accurately record all observations in the appropriate Traksuite application. 

  • Act as a role model for quality and compliance ensuring absolute product integrity for downstream customers. 

  • As a customer service provider, use an in-depth knowledge of wafer protocols to facilitate the accurate physical movement of wafers to and from the inspection/metrology work cell.  

  • Act proactively in defense of wafer fab yield by alerting the appropriate support team members in response to any unusual visual or measurement results. 

  • Responsible for coordinating coverage during breaks and lunch periods. 

  • Responsible for post clean mask inspection and requalification activities, alerting the appropriate support team members in response to mask damage. 

  • Act as shift prime for all non-standard inspection and metrology tasks to assist sustaining or project engineering activities. 

  • Provide processing support as required to meet production targets. 

  • Operate within the clean room according to all documented Wafer Fab processes and procedures. 

  • Execute process and equipment specific wafer tasks as required. 

  • Perform other job-related duties as required. 

  • The work hours of this position are from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma (Specialized industry training would be an asset) 

  • 1+ years direct experience in Wafer Fab Operations would be an asset. 

  • Highly motivated individual who must be able to work independently and as a member of a team. 

  • Ability to focus for long periods and consistently execute repeated inspection tasks carefully. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, facilitating effective communication at all levels within the functional area as well as cross-functionally with other departments. 

  • Competent in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software. 

  • Wafer Fab experience is an asset. 

  • Familiarity with Traksuite applications is an asset. 

  • Previous shift experience is an asset.
