About This Role
Critical responsibilities
Hardware solutions
Development of simulation hardware solutions for assigned tasks (requirements analysis, effort estimation, planning, design, implementation and testing).
Production of all relevant documentation (including CAD drawings).
Reviews during the stages of development.
Maintenance of Development Folders required to capture hardware development activities.
· Deployment of the product at the customer site.
Integration and Testing
Installation. integration and verification of the hardware components.
Performance and maintenance of associated test procedures.
Identify and resolved action items and discrepancies.
Provide Support and Assistance
Provide support for hardware interface changes.
Provide support at Integration Facilities.
Through-Life-Support (TLS) Contracts
Compliance with Engineering Management Procedure defined within the Engineering Management System (EMS).
Quality and timeliness of Modification Orders (MO).
Feedback
Monitor and report issues with the following:
Effort versus budget.
Identify and provide explanation for tasks that will exceed budget.
Ensure Performance Feedback and Development Plan (PFDP) and the skills matrix is up-to-date and correct.
Health and Safety
Ensure Performance Feedback and Development Plan (PFDP) and the skills matrix is up-to-date and correct.
Working Conditions
Working onsite where CAE systems are operating (including travel to the site itself).
It is highly likely you will be required to perform weekend and/or night work.
Physical Effort
Endurance: Capacity to withstand the physical forces generated by a six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) flight simulator.
Dexterity: Requires physical dexterity for performing tasks that involve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Posture: Involves periods of sitting, standing, and occasionally working in confined spaces.
Other Job-Related Skills/Background
The ability to acquire and hold an Australian Security Clearance at NV1 Level
Advanced Diploma or Certificate IV in a relevant hardware domain
Functional expertise (hardware and electrical engineering principles)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Clear oral and written communication, including technical documentation
Team player
Superior analytical and interpretative skills
Sound judgement.
Strong interest in aviation/ flight simulation and in a military hardware engineering environment.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Drive and persistence.
