Position Summary...

Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Enterprise Business Services is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, Associate Digital Experience. We are from learnings domain in Walmart EBS People tech. We work to provide world class learning experience to more than 2.1 M Walmart associates.  We are seeking a Software Engineer III for a key position within Learning team. Learning team plays a key role in enabling associates to do trainings by providing convenient mobile & desktop experience.

What you'll do:

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise project requirements.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging code issues, and collaborating with other teams to resolve defects.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and applying this knowledge to improve the company's products and services.
  • Adherence to the company's coding standards, software development life cycle (SDLC), and security protocols.
  • Collaboration with other teams to ensure seamless integration of backend systems with frontend applications and third-party APIs.
  • Drive design, development, implementation, documentation, and follow agile development process.
  • Building, testing, and deploying cutting-edge solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide.
  • Interacting with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
  • Being involved in the successful implementation by applying technical skills to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Java backend development
  • Strong understanding of Java programming language, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with popular Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Maven
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with database design and development, including SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and version control systems such as Git
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience building Restful services.
  • Knowledge on Linux platform.
  • Experience on unit testing frameworks (JUnit) and code quality control platforms like Sonar
  • CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
  • Demonstrated ownership for development and design of a few modules/features in a product.
  • Hands on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, willingness to learn new and emerging technologies
  • Good communication and interpersonal
  • Awareness of Agile (Scrum) methodologies
